Introduction

What is a DVR?
The Ozone DVR-based surveillance system allows you to connect up to 16 cameras and display/record simultaneously. The system can use motion detection technology and may be configured to record only when the image changes are detected. This saves time and cost of continuous recording as opposed to the traditional CCTV Systems. It may also record round the clock on sensitive areas.

The Ozone DVR system with built-in motion detection technology records only moving objects as they break in the view port area. The video data is digitised, captured with date and time, compressed and kept on a hard disk as a file for later tracking. No more round the clock recording on videotape like conventional surveillance systems. The data is stored on FIFO (First in First out) BASIS. That is when the hard disk becomes full after months of recording the older data is automatically removed on first in first out basis. The system also allows remote viewing by external modem, TCP/IP, IP Multicast and IPX with our own remote view application or through the web browser, acting just like a Web Cam.
Recording speed is adjustable up to a rate of 25f/s with 680 x 340 resolution in full colour. Will work with all Video Formats, i.e. PAL, NTSC or SECAM. The Inputs connections from the cameras are BNC Sockets.

Digital Surveillance Systems
Advantages
  • Digital recordings may be played back and duplicated repeatedly without quality degradation
  • Recorded video may be randomly accessed; arbitrary data may be recorded and played back with video
  • Compressed digital video may be readily stored on and transported over a variety of media, making remote surveillance and automatic archiving feasible
  • Digital recordings may incorporate data encryption to guard against tampering
  • Quality of video recordings may be readily traded-off against data storage and transmission requirements
  • System automation features are flexible and readily tailored to the needs of security personnel
  • System features may be readily changed and updated via simple software upgrades
Disadvantages
  • In the short-term, an entry-level digital system may be more expensive than a basic analog system

Please Note
It is not possible to Up-Grade from say an Ozone DVR600x2 to Ozone DVR600x8 etc. So, if you think you will need more camera inputs at a later stage then please purchase the system with enough camera inputs day one for future expansion
